How to get back old Facebook Chat
Hey Guys, I know I’ve been complaining about the new Facebook chat update lately, its irritating, even you know that for sure. I already wrote a article earlier New Facebook Chat Upgrade Interface Irritates Millions of People Online and I have been searching for the solution to get back to my good old facebook chat, but kinda ran out of luck on facebook help. They didn’t have any solution to it. It was the new upgrade, which Satish has already reviewed earlier on Technology Blog : New Facebook 2011 Interface Update Advantages & Disadvantages You Must Know and we can’t do anything about it, unless you can actually bypass the Facebook JavaScript source and replace the new source code with the old one. And how do you do that? You guessed it, well if you didn’t, the solution is Grease Monkey (It’s an add-on for Firefox, I use Firefox ). After using the script, I’m finally happy to get my good old Facebook chat back and now I can see all my friends online and don’t have any useless live feed on my sidebar. I’m pretty happy, and for people like me who want to get back to their old Facebook chat, here’s how to get back old Facebook Chat.
How to get back old Facebook Chat – Steps to follow:
If you use Firefox, follow these steps.
Step 1 : Install the Grease Monkey plugin from here
Step 2: After your done with installing the Grease Monkey, install the script from here
And your done,refresh your page or restart your browser and your back to the good old facebook.
If you use Google Chrome, follow simple step below. Its pretty much the same process as in Firefox.
Step 1: Install the script for your browser from here
Step 2 : Refresh your page or restart your browser and your back to the good old facebook.
And yeah, that’s it, your done, refresh your page and your back to your old facebook chat. Get back to me if you have any queries..

Step 1: You should be using Google Chrome browser

Step 3: Refresh your Facebook page
Step 4: Enjoy the old Facebook chat!

Yes, Just restart the browser after disabling the plugin from your Mozilla Firefox browser 🙂 that’s all 😉

i’m using firefox, is there anyway of stopping to chat appearing in your message box, also i had loads of messages in my message box, which i can no longer access
This happens when you are not responding properly in your facebook chat option. Mostly when you go offline and online with a bad internet connection, we usually get everything in form of a message to our inbox. try to get a proper internet connection while you are trying to chat with others in facebook. Make the pop-out chat enabled when you want to talk with some one. 🙂 Even if you are still facing any issues after doing this steps, just we are a mail way. 🙂
thanks for that Satish….but the problem isn’t that i’m going offline…since fb installed the new chat on my profile last night…everytime i type something in chat it also appears in my messages…and when i open my chat..the messages in my inbox are also shown in my chat…fb has merged them together…which is really annoying..also my messages that i’ve kept for the last 2 years have all disappeared…
Yea, even i have observed that, Every mistake facebook is doing now, is opening a way for google plus now. they have to take care of old things instead of running towards new one. And coming to your problem. I just suggest you to use mozilla 5. It will give you a better result and also try to disable the greese monkey script addon and try the login again 🙂
