@cortex , Who told you so ? Its not mentioned anywhere on Datawind’s site. Are you ‘antaryaami’ ? Moreover a 3G version is definatly going to be more expansive. And don’t be mistaken by captive TS, its no more responsive than resistive ones. Only thing is they are capable of mult-touch. In case of gloves etc, resistive is much more responsive than capacitive. And wait for few years, a tab with 10 GHz processor is coming to market. 😀

no you cannot. There is no GPRS connection in the student version.. there will be a separate channel for you guys if you want to downloads apps in student version.

You cannot connect the dongle unless you will have a supporting app for that software. and there is nothing to worry about the email. they will call u when they are delivering your aakash to your place.

Hi,I booked a Aakash Tablet first then only relaised it doesn’t have GPRS facility.So decided to cancell this order and to move to Ubislate7.But unfortunately, cancell option was not available.So I tried “contact us”.But web page showed same order form under “contact us” tab.I entered all the details as done earlier when booked tablet.This time also instead of getting cancelled it got booked another.So I left this exercice and booked Ubislate for me and for my brother.Let me know whether they will call me to confirm new order/cancell older.

Hey, this was a nice review of the tabs… but i found one problem with the bluetooth… Since Ubislate is a 7′ tablet we would have problem talking with it.. if there was a bluetooth we could use the bluetooth as a dongle to make our bluetooth headsets work… this is just a minor problem…

But, that won’t let me use internet in my college right through WIFI? And if not, then how does one connect to the internet with the older tab version ? And even if its the latest version, then gprs would work only when I insert a sim right…& it would cost too isn’t it ?

Vadodara, Friday : The Union HRD ministry will be launching the Aakash 2 tablets in the month of April and May 2012. said by the Union minister of state, HRD, Dr D Purandeswari.
Aakash 2 tablets which are more improved tablets with a faster processor speed and a capacitive touch screen, will be launched by this April-May 2012. Dr D Purandeswari also said that the tablets will be available to college and university students at the same price of Aakash tablets and will make the tablets available for school students after seeing the success at higher education level. She said, by the release of Aakash 2, there will be no battery problems as like Aakash 1 and will it will be more consistent and better than the previous version.
So, we all have to wait for aakash tablets till the month of April – may 2012.
