Hi, I dont think you can upgrade it yourself. That may be available in the next version called Aakash 2. Lets wait 🙂
Yes, akash 2 tablet have 1 gb ram, 700 mhz speed, 5 mp back side camera and 0.1 mp front camera, 3200 mah battery backup, 2 gb internal memory and 32 gb expendable, wifi,3g,gprs also, akash 2(ubislate 7) will launch january 2012. thank you.
no akash 2 or ubislate 7+ does not have 1gb of ram but 256 and no cameras are pre installed on it
hiii suzane u ca upgrade the ram but there is few issues in that like of dat service it will charge u near by 500 to 800/-

As long as you have access to USB stick, you can connect anything which is feasible in it. Webcam will work for sure.. But cd’s i dont think they will work. You can connect a USB cd drive if you want to 😀

1) You can get in your college university or will be out in retail stores too.
2) Yes you can but i think only audio calls.
3) No you wont have a camera.
4) Yes, you can connect.
5) Yes, you can but only with commercial.
6) well, its a 300ghz processor so dont expect it to be fast. it can work on one app at a time easily.
7) no, you can use facebook as the same way you use in your computer. no need to use any other apps.

Well, there are 2 USB ports in it.. where you can connect your devices. May be the net setter will work in it, prior if you have a android supporting software or app to it.

Well, Aakash 2 is not yet conformed as per now.. when it is completely out, i will let you know. The processor speed of aakash 1 is around 300mhz. Which is enough to open 2 apps at a time.

First of all, Does this commercial version is also known as Aakash-2?
And does the commercial has a 700Mhz Processor and 1GB ram? because i read an article which mentioned the specifications of the commercial version of aakash tablet, and it told :
1. Processor Upgraded from 366 Mhz to 700 Mhz
2. RAM Size Enhance from 256MB to 1 GB
3. Battery Life upgraded from 3 hours to more than 5 hours, new battery of 3000 maH
4. Inbuilt Camera which was lacking in aaksah 1 one is rectified with 5 MPcamera in Aakash 2
5. It comes with a Headphone/mic plus integrated speaker, which was lacking in First generation Ubi Slate
6. Additional feature include car chargers and option to attach external antenna to it
7. Aakash 2 is having 2 USB Ports
8. 3G Enabled

I wont be able to tell you until the Aakash 1 is out.. let us check first and then go to this second one. WIthout release the first one and without selling the 1crore tabs, the govt will not produce another model for sure.

It will support android 2.2 as per now. The future upgrades cant be done by yourself. Maximum you can do is to get a 2.3 on it.. and it has no news of motion sensor. You can play games like the one which support a 300mhz processor. Not the bigger games, but you can play the normal ones.

IN TERMS OF TECHNOLOGY, UBISLATE7+ IS MUCH BETTER
Ubislate7+ (upgraded aakash) has a much faster processor. The real speed of the processor of bsnl tablets is between 533Mhz to 800 Mhz, not 1Ghz
so 1Ghz is only obtained by overclocking – which won’t be sustainable). More importantly, their device is on Arm-11, whereas Ubislate7+ is on Cortex A8. The Cortex A8 architecture is 2x faster than Arm 11. So a Cortex A8 – 800 Mhz processor will perform at the same as a 1.6GHz – Arm-11 processor. The bsnl processor is only equivalent to 300 to 400 Mhz in Cortex A8 terms

Bought the commercial version… thoroughly disappointed.
The touch screen response is pathetic. The virtual keyboard is quirky. The office apps are not built in.
The features displayed as hardware are not the features on the slate. Worse, the literature inside the box is not the literature for the slate delivered.
Don’t waste your time and effort on this piece of junk. Save up and buy yourself a good laptop.
