How to Setup 3G Network Options in Nokia Lumia Mobiles – All Networks
Many 3G service providers send automatic GPRS and MMS settings according to the smart phone as we insert the SIM. But sometimes they don’t come due to network problems or such, so we have to enter these details manually to get the 3G access and Internet . All the Nokia Lumia series will have a similar mobile network settings to connect the Internet. Since most of us don’t know how to enter these settings manually, we thought of writing them in detail. Please go through steps to setup your 3G network connection in Nokia Lumia.
How to Setup 3G Network Options in Nokia Lumia Mobiles:
If you are unable to connect the Internet from your Lumia phone, try following these simple steps to get instant access.
Step 1: Go to Settings and go to Settings.
Step 2: Click on Mobile Internet.
Step 3: You will find your active network on the first tab (Eg: Vodafone IN)
Step 4: Click on Data Connection and switch it to ON.
(This depends on the service agreement, you may incur extra changes when using data roaming.)
Step 5: Click on Data Roaming Options and Enable Roam.
Step 6: Click on Highest Connection Speed and put it on 3G.
Step 7: Click on Network Selection and put it to automatic.
Step 8: Click on edit APN and enter WWW in the APN section
Step 9: Ignore the other settings in edit APN to blank.
Step 10: Click on Done and come back to home screen.
Step 11: Restart your phone and start using the Internet.
That’s it! You have successfully entered the GPRS and 3G settings to your Nokia Lumia mobile. These APN settings are applicable to all 3G network providers like Vodafone, Idea, Airtel, Aircel and Etc. You have to just follow the 11 steps which we mentioned above. Just go to Access Points and delete everything and restart your phone. You should be able to connect now.

You should contact customer care for your settings, or send an SMS to receive them. Actually you should get the settings automatically.
I m using lumia 610 with reliance. Recharged with 3g data pack bt I m not getting the “G” or “H” signal and therefore not able to use 3g even after recharge. Still net is running on “E” signal. Please help me to activate 3g.

What phone are you using?
go setting>access point then tap + sign and u will be able to create ur own (editing) setting.
m using lumia 720 with bsnl sim..!!!! i cant access the wcdma signal in my town..i dont have an option like edit APN nd i cant delete access point settings….wat should i do???

You’ll have to set the highest data connection as 3G.
Actually if i activate data roam then the main balance also deducts but 3g runs and if i put off my data roam then 3g does not work. Plz suggest that what can i do to prevent the main balance loss and run 3g on my lumia 625( idea)..
That’s not supposed to happen, are you sure you have an internet pack active?
I contacted Reliance and got to know that I should switch on to WCDMA to access 3G. I use a Nokia Lumia 510 and not able to find option where I can move from GSM to WCDMA..

Go to Settings>Mobile Network and select ‘Highest Connection Speed’ as 3G.

You won’t need to do that, once SIM is inserted it will automatically connect if data is on.

You don’t need to edit APN, just turn on Data Connection through settings and it will work.

the manual apn switch is switched off
You don’t need to set it manually, it will automatically connect when a SIM is inserted.

Make sure you’re in an area with 3G network.

All new SIMs require you to just insert them in the phone and set a connection speed, there’s no more manual settings required. The people who aren’t getting 3G have either not set it to 3G through settings, or simply aren’t in a 3G network, so my answers revolve around that. How is this a problem?

Some of the Lumia phones have a bug with a certain version of firmware. Make sure you’re updated to the latest one, then switch Airplane mode on for 30 seconds or so and turn it off again, it should switch to 3G.

I am Using microsoft lumia 640 XL Dual SIM and having real B-I-G problem in accessing 3G internet(BSNL) in this device>>> I mean The readymade BSNL 3G datacard works Fine in other devices and My region has got fine 3G network coverage too…don’t kno what the problem Is! Hello, the SIM should work perfectly fine once plugged in, there is no more need to tinker with the APN. Leave everything on automatic and make sure your highest connection speed is set to 3G.

I have Lumia 535 DS. My reliance 3G sim is 3G connected. It was working fine in android handset. But it is totally useless in windows. My area is 3G connected highest connection is set in 3G. APN setting manually taken from customer care, data connection is properly turned on. But still it shows E instead of H+. I dont know what is the problem in all windows phone. Does 3G is supported or its a fake promise done by Microsoft.
It’s not a fake promise, companies don’t just promise 3G and not put in the hardware. Check in your settings if maximum connection speed is set to 3G. By default it is usually 2G. Check Settings>Mobile Network (or) Cellular + SIM>SIM Settings>Highest Connection Speed.

You don’t need to do this for the newer phones. Once your SIM is inserted, internet will automatically work. Set APN to default and under settings, set Maximum Connection Speed to 3G.

You don’t need to set anything separately now, just insert the SIM card and set highest connection speed to 3G, it will work.

Very very unlikely. Try taking it to your network provider’s office, they should be able to help if you’ve indeed done what I said.

By 3G, it means highest connection rate is 3G, it’s the exact same as 2G/3G what you mean. Any phone will connect to the fastest network available, according to the setting.
My lumia 520 stop conecting to the internet both on 3G and WIFI. l tried it with my airtrel and mtn lines and have consulted their customer service several time. The problem is not from my network provider. The sims works perfectly on other device. And the setting is properly down
If both of them aren’t working, there’s a good chance that your radio hardware is damaged, you should visit a Lumia service center.
I updated to Windows 10 Mobile via insider. Everything was fine until I started experiencing serious battery drain issue, which causes overheating.
My phone was plugged to the charger and was very hot. All of a sudden my SIM 2 stopped working.
After MUCH troubleshooting, I’m suspecting my 2G radio is bad, cos when I enable SIM2 for 3G data connection, SIM 1 stops working, while SIM 2 works.
I’ve tried hard reset, but it didn’t solve the problem.
Sounds like a hardware issue, try customer care.

You mean the APN settings? Just leave them as they are, no need to change.
After all 11 process completing till now 3g is not connected. Only E is comes on the screen
No need to do anything extra for new Lumia phones, just insert the SIM, set highest data speed to 3G and you’re good to go.
I think the problems are with lumia devices.because i use lumia 520 with airtel sim 3g works fine
And other sim there wont be a h+ signal only
