WhatsApp for iPhone Gets An Update – Brings iOS 7 Look And More
Great news for iPhone users! The much awaited WhatsApp update for iOS 7 has finally arrived. Though it’s taken a while, the new WhatsApp for iOS 7 is sure to make users happy. The redesigned popular messenger tool is compatible with the older versions of iOS as well. Sporting the iOS 7 user interface, the new WhatsApp offers interesting features. Broadcast messaging is one of the new features, which allows you to send one message to certain groups of people. For example: co-workers, sports teams, friends and many more.
A wee bit different from group messaging, this App allows you to gather a cluster of people from your contacts and send the message across to only the selected ones. Additional notification alerts and sounds, cropping photos before sending them are the two redesigned useful features of the new version. The blocked contacts list has become easier to manage with the UI being tweaked and the thumbnail pictures are enlarged from earlier.
An improved ‘location sharing’ uses 3D maps, and a new bundle of chat bubbles and icons are sure to go great with the new colorful iOS 7 look. As always, WhatsApp remains free to download and use, for a certain amount of time. However, new users would be charged $0.99 every year for the service after the first year, just like other platforms like Android and Windows Phone. The 18.6MB download does not support iPod and iPad.
The major update, released on 3rd December has thrilled a huge chunk of iPhone users who have been looking for their favorite messaging app to match the new UI. Reports suggest that WhatsApp has now overtaken Facebook Messaging as the most used messaging service. Coupled with the recently introduced push to talk feature, WhatsApp has pretty much cemented its position as the number one messenger in the world. So go grab your update now!
