New Need For Speed Game To Be Launched in Fall 2015
Most gamers today have fond memories of the Need for Speed series, and would probably go on and on about how awesome Need for Speed Underground and Most Wanted were, and how the recent games aren’t even nearly as fun. After a series of not so great games and a rather boring movie, Electronic Arts has just announced the latest in the long running racing franchise, a game simply called ‘Need for Speed’. EA is calling it a ‘full reboot’, which is good news, considering a couple of the previous games tried to include a storyline and protagonist, and failed spectacularly. As of now there’s just a teaser and some information about the reboot released, with the full reveal coming June 15. Here’s what we know about the Need for Speed 2015 reboot!
Need for Speed Reboot – Details and Teaser
According to released information, the new Need for Speed Reboot will return to arguably the most loved era of the series, and include extensive customization and ‘authentic urban car culture’. If you’ve played the earlier games in the series, you’ll know that it sounds likeĀ Need for Speed Underground reincarnated, and that can only be a good thing, provided they pull it off, of course. It’s also going to be open world, so you can probably explore the city after tricking out your ride. Developed by Ghost Games, a new studio dedicated to the Need for Speed franchise, Need for Speed will be out sometime between October and December this year, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. According to the official website:
“With over 20 years of history in its rear view mirror, Need for Speedā¢ returns with a reboot that delivers on what Need for Speed stands for – rich customization, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative that drives your NFS game.
Fuelled by our very own car culture community, Speedhunters has helped deliver a NFS experience that is grounded in authentic car culture by diving into the world of past, present and emergent trends of the urban car scene, NFS will unleash the passion for cars and speed when it releases this Fall, 2015.”
If this game offers gamers the chance to experience the customization and culture from Underground with improved graphics and mechanics, it could turn out to be one of the biggest hits of the year. Check out the first, rather short, teaser below and do let us know if you’re looking forward to the new Need for Speed!
As a gamer I am desperately waiting for it.
